The course is for beginners to intermediate-level individuals that want to build a career in Modern Secure Application Development (DevSecOps) for the Internet of Things (IoT). When you think of IoT, think of a Thermostat or a Smoke Detector that is connected to the interne i.e., Connected Devices. The Cloud Engineering Immersive starts from the concept of IoT to building ‘things’ that make up the Internet of Things, including how those components are securely connected, communicate, and how thd value to the data generated. The fundamental aspect of IoT security is data security. Persisting data on the IoT device, say within a drone, and the data is being transmitted to a centralized server, such as a database on a public cloud. Protecting data is everything. At the end of the course, you will be able to confidently demonstrate job skills in NICE Cybersecurity Workforce Framework (NCWF) focus areas of SECURELY PROVISION, OPERATE AND MAINTAIN, AND ANALYZE. IoT can optimize processes and improve efficiencies for small to large enterprise businesses. You will also be able to confidently apply various IoT security methods depending on a specific IoT application and its place in the IoT ecosystem.
Student experience

Our comprehensive course is 400 hours in duration and can be completed in two different schedules: 10 weeks from Mon to Fri between 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM or 20 weeks from Mon to Fri between 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM. Each course includes 200 hrs of theory and 200 hrs of hands-on labs.

Course details

Secure Infrastructure: Prepare to apply the Linux and Cloud administration skills towards implementing, managing, and monitoring identity, governance, storage, compute, and virtual networks in a cloud environment, plus provision, size, monitor, and adjust resources through automation with scripting – PowerShell, Bash and Command Line Interface (CLI).

Secure DevOps: This module provides an entry-level understanding of standard DevSecOps practices, processes, and tools. You will learn how to support the DevSecOps transformation and increase security capabilities without the need for gating processes. Explore frameworks, tools, and technologies to secure code from the blueprint to execution which includes Accounts and access, Team and integrations, Projects, and monitoring.

Secure IoT: Learn the responsibilities of IoT developers through hands-on implementation and the just-enough coding required to create and maintain the cloud and the edge portion of IoT solutions. In addition to configuring and maintaining the devices by using cloud services, the IoT Developer also sets up the physical devices, and maintains the devices throughout the life cycle, including security via device authentication in the IoT Hub, generating and managing the certificates.

Certifications: By the end of this course, you will have the skills needed to acquire Microsoft Azure Cloud Administrator (AZ-104), CompTIA Linux+, Azure DevOps (AZ-400), Azure IoT Specialty (AZ-220), Certified IoT Security Practitioner (CertNexus).
