Conducting a CMMC assessment is a higher bar than understanding one. The Certified CMMC Assessor credential is for experienced practitioners who will sit on the assessor side of the table — and this advanced certification-track class prepares them for it.

CCA Prep goes deep on the skills an assessor uses in the field: judging whether evidence is sufficient and adequate, executing assessment procedures and interviews, making and documenting scoring decisions, and producing reporting that withstands scrutiny. It assumes CCP-level command of the ecosystem and the assessment process and builds from there.

You’ll leave ready to operate at the depth the assessor role demands.

The CCA is the advanced credential in our certification track — the step beyond CCP Prep for professionals committed to conducting CMMC assessments.

Class FAQs

Certified CMMC Assessor (CCA) Prep — questions, answered

Is the CCP a prerequisite for the CCA? +
The CCA is the advanced assessor credential and builds directly on CCP-level knowledge. Confirm the current eligibility requirements with our team before enrolling so you sit the exam at the right point in your path.
How is the CCA different from the CCP? +
The CCP establishes foundational knowledge of the CMMC ecosystem and assessment process. The CCA goes further into the practitioner skills needed to actually conduct an assessment — evaluating evidence, executing procedures, making scoring decisions, and reporting findings.
Who conducts CMMC assessments? +
Formal CMMC assessments are conducted through accredited C3PAOs using qualified assessors. This class prepares experienced practitioners for the assessor role within that ecosystem.
Does the price include the CCA exam voucher? +
Plan for the exam fee separately unless we confirm otherwise for your cohort. Check with our team for the current details before you enroll.
How is the class delivered and how much does it cost? +
It is delivered hybrid — attend on-campus at Dallas College Downtown or join live online — and the price is $4,995. See the calendar for upcoming cohort dates.
I'm experienced but haven't taken CCP Prep. Is this the right class? +
This is an advanced class that assumes CCP-level command of the material. If you have not yet covered that ground, our CCP Prep class is the right starting point before CCA Prep.
What background should I have before attending? +
Plan to come in with substantial hands-on cybersecurity or compliance experience and a solid grasp of the CMMC assessment process. The material moves at the depth a practicing assessor needs.
